Most of our Classes are 4 hours long and generally scheduled on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5.
This time frame best suits the busy schedules of Students and Staff thus providing a better training experience.
Class sizes are limited to insure an optimum Instructor / Student Ratio so Register Early.
The Monthly Calendars contain the Master list of Class Dates (to be posted soon).
Each Class Description also lists the upcoming dates for that specific class.
Private Classes can be arranged, but the fees are higher for one on one instruction.

This is a Level I Class.   The Basic Handgun Class (BHG) is offered to any adult age 18 or older wishing to take their first steps in learning successful center-fire
hand gunning.  The class covers Safety, Gun Design, Operation, and Marksmanship.   The last hour touches on basic self-defense techniques usable in your Home,
but is only a taste of the defensive skills you need to protect yourself with a handgun.  The BHG ends with some practice drills you can try on the range.    BHG is required to
take a Level II Class.   Level II Classes (Example - Armed Response or Concealed Carry) focus on defensive tactics and are an excellent follow up to refine your self
defense capabilities.   You must preregister and pay in advance to be included.  The BHG has limited space available on a first come/first serve basis.
The 4 hour BHG Class costs $100.00 per student.  The fee includes Standard (West Valley) Membership for the remainder of the calendar year.  Each student must supply
their own handgun and ammunition (minimum 100 rounds).   We prefer the handgun (semi-automatic or revolver) be calipered 9MM or larger (but that is not required).
Guns with Stiff / Heavy actions are discouraged especially for small or weak handed persons.   A strong side holster is not required but recommended.   Collapsible
Inside the waist band (IWB) holsters are discouraged.   No cross draw, small of the back, shoulder, ankle, or SOFT sided IWB (inside the waistband) holsters are allowed because of safety concerns

Armed Response (AR) is a  Level II Class offered to qualified adults age 18 & older who aspire to learn proven methods and techniques of self defense with a
center-fire handgun.   These concepts would be utilized in defending your self against deadly force attack within your home or place of business.     The procedures taught
require a serious and dedicated resolve to learn the lessons, practice the techniques, and consider the results of repelling a deadly assault.  By the end of class
each student will have participated in practice drills exercising the skills taught and providing useful ways to enhance their ability.    A minimum level of competence
(safe and accurate operation) is required to be included in this class.   That means completion of a ProTEQ Level I Class or successful demonstration of adequate
technique on the Range in front of a ProTEQ Master Instructor.   We prefer that all students in this class have at least "applied" for a handgun carry permit within their
Resident State.   This defensive pistol class is limited to a small number of students on a first come/first serve basis.  You must preregister and pay in advance to be
included.   The 4 hour AR class costs $130.00 per student.   Students will be required to supply their own handgun and 200 rounds of ammunition.   Minimum caliber
should be 9MM.   Revolvers are strongly discouraged for this class unless the shooter can demonstrate (in advance) sufficient hand size and strength to withstand the
stress of firing several hundred revolver rounds in a short time period.   A strong side, fixed shape, belt holster is required.  A top quality fixed shaped IWB holster will be
accepted if it allows easy one handed re-holstering.
No cross draw, small of the back, shoulder, ankle, or SOFT sided IWB (inside the waistband) holsters are allowed because of safety concerns.
